Hot take:

"Hormone therapy doesn't turn trans ppl into anime characters" is more of a reassurance to cis ppl than trans ppl.

Ofc not all the time and not a criticism, but in my personal and anecdotal experience, cis ppl are more mad when trans ppl are "ugly" or "average" post transition. They'll only support transitions that make the person beautiful in their eyes.
